Benchmark description for vConsolidate*

vConsolidate is a benchmark developed by Intel Corporation to measure Server Consolidation performance. This benchmark represents predominant use case of server application consolidation. Application types (Web, database, mail, Java) selected for consolidation are guided by market data. Benchmark scales through CSUs (Consolidated Stack Unit). One CSU = five virtual machines (four application virtual machines and one idle virtual machine).

Benchmark description for VMmark

VMmark is a benchmark that quantifies and measures the performance of virtualized environments. Using a tile-based scheme (a tile is a collection of six workloads including web server, file server, mail server, database, Java* server as well as an idle machine), the benchmark measures scaling performance of consolidated workloads commonly found in the data center. The score represents the tile run for a specific time generating a throughput metric and normalized to a fixed reference platform.
