No floppy drive for F6 install of RAID driver on Windows* XP

Description:

I can't install the AHCI or RAID driver on Microsoft Windows* XP using the F6 installation procedure because my system does not have a floppy drive.

Solution:

There are two ways to resolve this issue.

  • Attach a USB floppy drive. You may need to enter the system BIOS and set the USB emulation mode to floppy.
Note Not all USB floppy drives are natively supported by the Microsoft Windows XP installation*. If your USB floppy drive is not recognized, try a different USB floppy drive.
  • Create a bootable copy of the Microsoft Windows XP setup disk that includes the RAID drivers. This is called slipstreaming. Then, re-run the setup with the slipstream version.
