To identify the Intel® Chipset components located in a computer, you may need to look at the motherboard for the chipset markings.

Note:
Some system manufacturers may void the warranty if you open the case. Check with the manufacturer if you have any concerns about this before proceeding.

Heatsink Note
Some Intel® Chipset components such as the GMCH (Graphics and Memory Controller Hub) or MCH (Memory Controller Hub) might have heatsinks attached to them. We strongly recommend that you do not try removing any heatsink attached to a chipset in order to view the chipset markings. Only trained and qualified professionals should remove the heatsink from Intel Chipsets. If an Intel Chipset has a heatsink, we recommend using the Intel® Chipset Identification Utility to identify the Intel Chipset components.
