VBE (VESA BIOS Extension) is a graphics standard that is used by many games written for the MS-DOS* operating system. It allows MS-DOS games to support screen resolutions and color depths beyond those supported by the VGA standard. VBE is normally implemented in the video BIOS, so no driver support is usually required.
