Uninstall WiFi adapter driver

Caution
If the Intel WiFi adapter driver is removed, you will not be able to use the wireless adapter until a new driver is installed. This procedure is recommended only as a last resort and should not be attempted unless directed by an Intel technical support agent. If this procedure is recommended, download the latest drivers before starting this process.

Note A manual uninstall will uninstall the driver for the WiFi adapter only; it will not uninstall associated software.

Complete the following steps to uninstall the Intel WiFi adapter driver:

  1. Open the Device Manager.
Windows XP*: Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware
Windows Vista*: Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > System
  2. Click the + Network adapters to expand the section.
  3. Right-click the Intel WiFi adapter and select Properties.
  4. Click Driver tab.
  5. Click Uninstall.
  6. Check Delete the driver software for this device and click OK.
