Before you update your driver Intel provides generic versions of Wi-Fi drivers for general purposes. Your computer manufacturer may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to your adapter software. Intel recommends you contact your computer manufacturer for the latest system specific updates and technical support information.
Updating Driver The following methods can be used to update your Intel® Wi-Fi driver:
- Intel® Driver Update Utility
The easiest way to update your Intel Wi-Fi driver and software is to run the Intel Driver Update Utility tool. This tool identifies your adapter and updates your driver to the latest version, if necessary.
- Manually update the driver
Download your driver through Download Center. You need to know your adapter name and operating system to locate the driver. After you have the software on your hard drive, simply double-click the executable. The install wizard walks you through the installation process. For older drivers in a ZIP file, extract the compressed files to a folder on your computer and double-click the EXE.
